Bomb threat

The most likely source of a bomb threat is by telephone. Should a threat be received by mail, the procedure is the same as for a telephone threat. The letter however should be isolated and not handled unnecessarily (preferably placed in a plastic sleave/folder), then passed to Police for fingerprinting and forensic examination.

If you receive a bomb threat you should:

1. Record as accurately as possible the exact words used by the caller.
2. Keep the receiver off the hook to allow tracing (even if the caller hangs up).
3. Attract the attention of another person to alert security (Dial 222) of the threat.
