Microsoft Word Viewer

Even if you don't have Microsoft Word installed on your computer, you may still need to open documents sent to you by people who do have Word. The Word Viewer opens documents created by any version of Word, including 97 and 2000 for Windows, and 98 and 2001 for Mac.

Mac users: Microsoft has not released a Word Viewer for Macintosh, however the TextEdit application supplied with Mac OS X can open many Word documents in a basic form. You can also use the OpenOffice free productivity suite, or iWork supplied with many Mac computers, which both more accurately preserve the content and layout.

Note: You do not need this utility if you have a full version of Word installed on your computer.

Note: This application is NOT supported by the IT Service Desk.
