Travelsmart
TravelSmart is a voluntary travel behaviour change program aimed at encouraging people to drive less and walk, cycle, catch public transport and carpool more. By reducing the number of people driving in congested traffic conditions and increasing the use of public transport we can help reduce greenhouse gas production, local air pollution and traffic congestion.
To help you travel more sustainably why not visit our website for some great tips such as cycling to the Melbourne Campus at Burwood. You will also find public transport timetables and information on concessions. Keep this page as a regular favourite for all the latest competitions, events and the most recent developments at Deakin.
Ride to uni day
Cycle to the Melbourne Campus at Burwood and you can improve your health, save money and reduce your footprint on the environment!
All staff and students who cycle to the Melbourne Campus at Burwood on Tuesday 20 May between 7.30 am and 10 am will receive a free breakfast at Café Plateau (please bring your bike helmet for proof that you have cycled).
There will also be workshops on basic bicycle maintenance plus free health checks for those who participate.
Why not challenge yourself and enter into one of our competitions on the day – males and females are both encouraged to give it a go! There are also spot prizes for the best bike outfit, helmet hair and best effort.
