Occupational health and safety training - be part of the online trial

As this is only a trial, the module has not been customised to Deakin, however it does cover the fundamentals of OHS.

OHS Fundamentals (Existing Employee)

Topics covered:

• Roles in the Workplace - Employer
• Roles in the Workplace - Responsible Officer (health and safety officers, OHS coordinators, management health and safety representatives. This does NOT include elected health and safety representatives)
• Roles in the Workplace – Supervisor
• Roles in the Workplace – Employee
• Hazard Management
• Workplace Expectations
• Workplace Expectations – Signage
• Workplace Expectations – Procedures
• Hazards and Controls

Self assessment within the module includes:

• Isocorp (simulated business exercise)
• Summary and Assessment
• Quiz

The nominal time to complete the module is 45 minutes.

To access the program follow these steps:

1. Go to http://cgu.e3learning.com.au/registration/deakin/
2. Select “Click here to register an account”
3. Enter password: register
4. Create your own login details
   • Use any logon ID (e.g. your name - fred.smith, julie.jones)
   • Select a password (It is recommended that you do NOT use your University password) and press “submit”
5. Start training (the course is automatically assigned to you when you register)

An email will be sent to you with your user details.

You can complete different parts over a period of time. When returning to the site you can simply go to http://cgu.e3learning.com.au to login as normal.

There is a workplace activity at the end of the training. This is optional for this module, but please feel free to complete it and provide feedback to your supervisor.

Note: You will notice your character (avatar) in the training exercises seems to be inappropriately dressed for the activities (her Sunday best). This has been noted and no correspondence will be entered into!
