Deakin University has received funding from the State Government's Department of Infrastructure (DoI) to implement TravelSmart over the next two years. The TravelSmart project is designed to provide useful information for staff and students to help them travel more sustainably to the university, while at the same time helping to remove barriers that prevent staff and students from cycling, walking or taking public transport to the Melbourne Campus at Burwood.
Since its beginning in late 2007 TravelSmart has already secured an express bus service to the campus and is looking at building a bicycle storage facility where staff and students will be able to lock their bikes in a secure location. For more information on traveling sustainably, including updates on the latest TravelSmart activities please visit the TravelSmart web site.
