You may have noticed the new “Wireless Zone” signs displayed at various locations around Deakin University. Over the past four months Deakin’s wireless network has been through a significant upgrade to both its coverage and maintenance service to enable additional capacity and even greater resiliency.
Existing coverage locations have been improved and an additional 120 wireless points installed. The network now has coverage that extends over the most critical points of the campuses such as libraries and learning areas.
Since the improved capacity has been in place a marked increase in usage has been experienced and the network has been able to respond positively by continuing to supply strong and reliable wireless coverage.
Enjoy the new and improved wireless coverage at Deakin University! ITSD will continue to monitor the performance of the wireless network and determine future necessary enhancements.
