The College of Distinguished Deakin Educators (CDDE) was established in 2007 with the endorsement of the University's Senior Executive. Since then, a growing number of outstanding educators have been appointed as Fellows. They have been drawn from among the University's excellent teachers, teaching scholars and educational leaders.
Through the College, Deakin aims to:
Underpinning the work of the CDDE is the nationally funded Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Promoting Excellence Initiative Project. Using funding received through the ALTC PEI Grant Scheme, the University proposes to extend the impact of the College of Deakin Distinguished Educators by establishing the College as a strategic conduit between Deakin, and the activities and opportunities provided nationally by the ALTC. In so doing, Fellows of the College will receive special support to investigate and actively contribute to the ALTC Fellowship Scheme, Grants Program, Teaching Awards, Exchange and Discipline-based Initiatives.
