Language and Learning workshops

Language and Learning Advisers offer a comprehensive range of workshops during the trimester. These provide you with an opportunity to enhance your academic skills and boost your success in your studies at Deakin.

The workshops are informal, friendly and interactive and you are encouraged to ask any study and assignment related questions you may have.

You are invited to attend workshops on any campus that suits you.

Workshops on your campus
  • Burwood - Trimester 3, 2008
  • Warrnambool - details early 2009
  • Waurn Ponds - details early 2009
  • Waterfront - details early 2009

Off-campus

There are workshops that are specifically designed for off-campus students. These are usually held on campus. Off-campus students are also welcome at all other campus-based workshops. Details of further off-campus workshops will be announced for trimester 1 2009.

There are also free eLive sessions on various topics. Topics include:

  • researching and referencing using the internet
  • academic writing and editing
  • writing gramatical sentences

All students are welcome to register.

Higher Degree by Research

Dr. Margaret Kumar will be collaborating with Professor Richard Ingleby in the Induction Workshop for new higher degree by research candidates for 2009.

This will be followed by other workshops and seminars catering to the specific needs of local and international candidates.
