Building your profile

Are you an employer that students are desperate to work for? Do students know who you are, what you do, who you are looking to recruit and when your deadlines are? Perhaps you need to make students more aware of your organisation to compete for great graduates. Jobshop offers a number of services to help you raise your profile, or we can work with you to come up with a solution that’s just right for your business.

Electronic Postcards

Email is the best way to contact students, but it is important that the message is interesting and exciting. Imagery has a greater impact than text, and it allows you to keep the consistency of your branding intact.

Electronic Postcards are a great way to encourage students to

  • find out more about your company,
  • apply for the vacancy you are promoting and
  • to push your promotional images to the forefront of the students minds

We have two different options available with the Electronic Postcards:

YOU develop the images: Many employers ask their marketing department to develop the front and back images that we use as your Electronic Postcard. The benefit of this is that you are guaranteed the images will match your current marketing, and it gives you more freedom to be creative. If you decide to use this option, the image must be around 800pixels x 400pixels (or if not these exact measurements, a postcard shape). The cost of this service, where YOU develop the images is $330 for the first cohort of students, and $110 for each additional cohort.

JOBSHOP develop the images: The Jobshop team have developed many Electronic Postcards in the past, but please note that we are not graphic designers! If you decide to use this option when organising your Electronic Postcard, we will need you to send us any images, logos and text that you would like to see in the postcard. We will develop a postcard that we feel suits your needs, and forward it to you for any changes or for approval. The cost of this service is $440 for the first cohort of students, and $110 for each additional cohort.

This service is limited to the promotion of employment opportunities and recruitment deadlines, and is sent only to the cohort(s) you seek to recruit (no 'all students' emails).

Hard-copy Mailouts

Our direct mail service allows you to target specific cohorts of students in order to promote employment opportunities within your organisation. Cohorts can be identified by campus, degree, year level, major, permanent/non-permanent resident and on/off campus status. You supply the promotional material to be mailed to students and we address and post it in Deakin envelopes.

The cost of direct mail is $55 (administration fee), $2.20 per item and $0.55 postage per item. All of these prices include GST

If you are interested in this initiative, you can contact Lucinda Rodrigue on 03 5227 1242 or lucinda.rodrigue@deakin.edu.au

Posters on campus

Your promotional material can be placed on noticeboards both inside each of our Career Resource Centres and Jobshop offices and in strategic sites around our campuses. There is no charge associated with this service, but we would appreciate it if poster sizes were kept to A4 as notice board space is limited.

Please note that we recommend that employers only send us posters during the academic semester, as they will have very little impact if the students are not on campus!

Please contact Lucinda Rodrigue on 5227 1242 or lucinda.rodrigue@deakin.edu.au for information on where to mail your promotional material.
