Muslim Students Association (MSA)
The MSA is a religion-based club officially affiliated
with the Deakin University Association of Students . It exists to:
- Conduct social, cultural, religious activities in the
best tradition of Islam in order to promote unity among its members.*
- Disseminate Islamic knowledge among Muslims for the
purpose of strengthening their faith.
- Strive for better facilities and provide support for
Muslim students.
- Arrange and hold daily congregational and Friday prayers
and Islamic festivals.
* Membership is not limited to Muslims. MSA
also welcomes non-Mulsim students who are interested in understanding the teachings
of Islam and the culture of Muslim societies as a field of common study, in
accordance with its purposes and programs.
The activities of MSA include:
- Daily congregational and Friday prayers on the Waurn
Ponds campus in the Mosque located on the ground floor of the science building,
room SB038.
- Study circle every Dhuhur (noon) prayer.
- Participation in the Club Day organised by DUAS each
semester.
- Social events, including BBQs, dinners and sports.
- Participation in Islamic events in Australia, such
as conferences and festivals.
