Record number of employers visiting Deakin in 2010
Deakin welcomed a significant number of employers to its campuses in 2010. Over 170 organisations attended careers events, and these were also attended by 4,500 students across all campuses. The Graduate Careers Fair was held in March, 2010 at the Melbourne Campus at Burwood, followed by the Jobs, Work Experience and Volunteer Fairs in August held at the Melbourne Campus at Burwood, and the Geelong Campus at Waurn Ponds. The Warrnambool Campus also hosted a Volunteer Expo in conjunction with DUSA. These events were a great way for students to meet with prospective employers, and learn more about the benefits of work experience and volunteering.
Preparation is in full swing for the Graduate Careers Fair to be held at the Melbourne Campus at Burwood on Monday 21 March, 2011, from 1-4pm. Participating employers who will be recruiting final year students for graduate programs that commence in 2012 include:
- Large global professional services firms
- Mid-tier firms
- Commonwealth and State Government
- Banking and manufacturing firms
- Engineering and IT firms
