Off-Campus Housing Service
The Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus is situated approximately
eight kilometres west of the city of Geelong. The residences are part of
the campus and
are set in a picturesque landscape close to all of the University’s main facilities;
Peter Thwaites Lecture Theatre (LT1), library, computer labs, dining room and
shops. Sporting facilities such as the tennis courts, ovals and the
KD Stewart Centre which houses squash courts, basketball courts and a gymnasium
are all within a short walking distance from the residences. A daily bus service operates from the University to the city and surrounding areas.
On-campus accommodation is provided for 475 students in a co-educational and
multi-cultural environment. Each resident is accommodated in their own furnished
bedroom and all buildings have communal lounge areas, kitchens and bathrooms.
There is also a six bedroom house (Thornhill Rd) approx 1.5 kilometres from the University that is available for second and third year residents and medical students.
Geelong residences consist of Barton College and Deakin
College.
Meals and catering
The University dining room provides up to four evening meals per week from 5.45pm - 7.00pm Monday
to Thursday. The dining room offers a selection of three different meals each night and caters for special dietary needs such as Asian, Halal and vegetarian
meals.

Each unit has a kitchen with facilities for your other daily cooking needs. Each college holds a special college dinner. This is a time for the college to dine together as a group and listen to a guest speaker. It also provides a forum to discuss any issues of concern to residents.

Boyd 1, and Gordon 5 in Deakin College provide full access for disabled students.
Off-campus housing service
The on-campus student residences are in high demand and have limited places, therefore many students must rely on the private accommodation market to meet their housing needs. Properties located off-campus are managed by the Division of Student Life Off-Campus Housing Service.
