Online incident reporting

This page allows residences staff to report an incident online.

An incident report describes an incident involving a resident or non resident that is violating one or more Residences rules and procedures as detailed in the Deakin University Residences Handbook and Residential Code. A copy of the Residences Handbook (1.24MB) and the Residential Code (28KB)is provided to all staff during training, and to ALL residents.

What should I report?

  • unregistered guests/visitors
  • suspicious behavior in the car parks
  • intruders
  • stolen items
  • abuse – both physical & verbal
  • damage to vehicles
  • damage to personal or University property
  • noise complaints
  • disturbances

These are only a few examples and incident reporting should not be confined to this list. It is far better to report situations where you suspect suspicious behavior rather than do nothing.

Students who live in Deakin University Residences who are involved or witness an incident are also required to pass on information to their Residential Assistant, Residential Supervisor and/or Manager.

In the case of an emergency contact:
– Fire/police/ambulance: dial 0, then 000 from any internal phone
– Security: dial 222 from any internal phone or 1800 062579

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
