The Switzerland Global Education Program provides students with the opportunity to complete a placement near the city of Lucerne, which is located in Central Switzerland.

Applications for GEP Switzerland open Monday 6 March, and close Sunday 26 March.
The Switzerland GEP is arranged through partnerships with Zug, Schwyz and Lucerne universities and is offered to primary pre-service teachers. These universities are located in central Switzerland (not far from Zurich) and are within about 30 minutes of each other. The 4 week practicum is organised by a coordinator at the host university and you will be located in a school in the university region.
The university coordinator also organises host-family accommodation and weekly involvement in the university teacher education program including connecting you with 'study buddies'.
Additional program requirements:
- Attend information and pre departure session run by student mobility and the program coordinators
- Complete all materials once application is accepted including: applying for Deakin travel insurance
- Current passport with 6 months of time on it before program ends. Please note if you do not have a current passport you need to apply asap as it can take up to a month for a new passport to be processed.
GEP Switzerland is available to Bachelor of Education (Primary) E359 students who would be eligible to study either ETP302 or EEG302 in 2017.

Students will be asked to nominate in their online application whether their GEP Switzerland will be contributing towards ETP302 or EEG302.
Plan your course. Talk to a Course Adviser for course planning advise and Professional Experience about which practicum unit/s you will have available in 2017.
Approximate cost for 2017 program: $5,000.
Studying overseas or interstate doesn't need to break the bank. You may eligible for assistance from an OS-HELP Loan, WIL Support Bursary or a Faculty Travel Grant, to help with the cost of travel, accommodation and program costs.
