The Big Idea
Got the Idea to develop the new social enterprise?
Now in its sixth year, Deakin University is excited once again, to be apart of the Big Idea competition in association with The Big Issue.
A social enterprise planning competition between university students around the country, the Big Idea competition invites students to develop a concept and business plan that might become the next 'Big Issue', and potentially change the lives of thousands of disadvantaged Australians around the country.
Competitors will have unprecedented access to a series of lectures, workshops and online seminars, delivered by some of Australia's most influential leaders.
This combination of comprehensive guidance, advice and direction will ensure you are well placed to develop your big ideas into brilliant business plans tailored towards viable social enterprise.
Australia's longest standing and most significant social enterprise, The Big Issue is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that develops solutions to help homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged people to positively change their lives. So, if you're passionate about social enterprise, there's no better place to start than signing up for the Big Idea competition!
What's in it for you?
The Big Idea is more than just a competition. Aside from being in the running to win a professional immersion day at The Big Issue’s Head Office and PwC Australia’s office in Melbourne (flights and accommodation if the winning team is not in Melbourne), you will have the opportunity to network with some of Australia's most influential thought leaders and experts across a number of fields encompassing social enterprise. Every member of the winning team will also win an iPad.
