A sense of capability

Students who are better prepared for the roles and tasks of university study tend to have greater early academic success and are consequently more satisfied and persistent with their studies.

Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct explains what students can expect at Deakin and the responsibilities they have as Deakin students.

Student life

Each Deakin campus offers a unique atmosphere and a huge range of facilities including: libraries, cafes and food outlets, 24-hour computer laboratories, 24-hour on site security, medical centres and health services, sport and recreational facilities, childcare centres, multi-faith prayer rooms.

Moreover, Deakin provides excellent educational and support services to assist you with your transition into and throughout university life.

Time management

University life may appear to be more unstructured in comparison to school or work. There may seem to be lots of 'free time' between lectures and tutorials. However, university students are expected to spend more time in independent study and to devote an average of 10 hours per week to each unit.
