Cloud Orientation

Welcome to Deakin! Your Cloud Orientation runs for 5 weeks from O'Week onwards. It includes a series of online events and competitions designed to give you the opportunity to explore your online learning environment and find out what is available to you as a cloud student. You are encouraged to register and attend as many sessions as possible.

We encourage you to make the most of your time at Deakin as a cloud student and connect with others through DeakinSync Communities. If you live near campus, then please come and join in the on campus activities as well!

What is on during an O'Week for cloud students?
Welcome to Deakin! O'Week gives you a great opportunity to find your bearings as a Deakin Cloud student before your study begins.

We recommend you join the Faculty Welcome web chat sessions and take the opportunity to chat with Jane den Hollander, Deakin’s Vice-Chancellor. You can also join web chats and workshops about studying in the cloud, financial assistance and library services - there is even a session on the ultimate student guide to campus. Don't forget to click on 'register' to select all events you are interested in.  All session times are AEDT and run for one hour, unless otherwise specified.

You are also very welcome to come to a campus if there is one near you to get involved, but if you can't make it, you can still experience some of the atmosphere - check out our live broadcasts by simply downloading the free Periscope app on your smartphone and following @deakin.

Competition of the week: You could win $50 to spend at the Deakin Merchandise store. Take a selfie with your Deakin Welcome Pack and post it on Instagram, using #deakinlife. Make sure your profile is public so we can find you!
