Academic Study Program
We are committed to providing academic staff with the opportunity to enhance their professional development and to take time to develop their research or their teaching. For more information please refer to the ASP procedure.
Under the 2017 Enterprise Agreement, there are now two types of ASP available; each program has a different eligibility criteria and process for application:
- Academic Study Program – Research Development. This program is open to eligible Academic staff to develop their research profile and capabilities. The intention is to allow Academic staff a period of up to two trimesters to work with local and internationally renowned academics, professionals and industry leaders from other institutions, to attend conferences and provides the opportunity for uninterrupted research activities.
- Academic Study Program – Teaching Development. This program is open to eligible Academic staff who do not have a research allocation, for a period of up to one trimester, to develop their teaching expertise through industry placements. This applies to Teaching and Research Academic staff who have had at least 12 months with no research allocation. A Scholarship allocation of up to 10% does not make an Academic staff member ineligible for Academic Study Program – Teaching Development.
