You need to supply additional documentation when you apply for some courses at Deakin
During your application through the Course and Scholarship Applicant Portal you may be requested to provide additional documentation.
These documents can include:
- certified transcripts of results
- personal statement
- professional registration
- forms as specified below
Not supplying these documents at the point of application may result in a delay in the consideration of your application.
When to provide supporting documents
You can upload documentation at any time in the application process.
You can also log back in and submit documentation after you complete your application. If you supply documents after you submit your application, it may cause a delay in processing. Sometimes you will be requested by the selection officer to provide additional documents, you can provide these through the Applicant Portal.
Course Specific Additional Documentation
Arts (Honours) applicants need to complete requirements dependent on their proposed discipline:
- Anthropology, Criminology, History, Sociology, International Relations, Politics, Philosophy, Language, Middle East Studies and Australian Studies - further information and requirements are found the School of Humanities and Social Sciences web page
- Children's literature, Literary Studies and Professional and Creative Writing - further information is found at the School of Communication and Creative Arts web page.
Communication (Honours) applicants need to complete requirements and read further information which is found at the School of Communication and Creative Arts web page.
Creative Arts (Honours) applicants need to complete requirements and read further information which is found at the School of Communication and Creative Arts web page.
Honours applicants must complete a preference form.
Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology applicants must submit an ESSA logbook.
Postgraduate nursing speciality course applicants must complete and submit the appropriate online hospital preference form below:
- Intensive Care, Cardiac Care, Emergency Care, Critical Care and Perioperative hospital preference form
- Midwifery hospital preference form

Please note: The Psychology Reference system is used across all Victorian and South Australian Universities. To be able to use the system, you will need to have an active subscription. The cost of a 12 month sign up is $20.00 and can be paid for through the "My Account" section in the payment tab. Credit for Prior Learning
You may be able to receive credit for courses you have studied. In some courses you may be able to apply for credit for your experience.
If you wish to apply for credit for previous studies as part of your online application, please visit the Credit for Prior Learning page and complete the application form.
You can submit this with your application by scanning and uploading the form via the Applicant Portal.
