The Archie and Hilda Graham Foundation Award

This award was established by The Archie and Hilda Graham Foundation to reduce study expenses for students from the City of Warrnambool and the South-West regions of Victoria who come from a financially disadvantaged background.

What are the benefits for you?

Cash payment of up to $5000


One year.

Payment of $2,500 in Trimester 1 and $2,500 Trimester 2. Payments for this Scholarship are not made in Trimester 3.

Eligibility criteria

All conditions must be met

  • An Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
  • a commencing student enrolled for the first time at Deakin University in your first year of your undergraduate bachelor degree in Trimester 1 2017 at the Warrnambool Campus
  • enrolled full time in a Commonwealth supported place
  • a resident of the City of Warrnambool, the Moyne Shire or south-western Victoria
  • able to demonstrate you are in receipt of a means-tested Centrelink benefit or have a personal or combined family taxable income below the HECS-HELP repayment threshold, depending on independence status.

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the information you provide in your application and supporting documentation.

Opening and closing dates

Applications for Trimester 1 2017 open 29 August 2016.

VTAC scholarship applications close 14 October 2016 at 5pm.

All other applications close: 12 January 2017 at 5pm.

How to apply

2017 VTAC course applicants

If you are applying for a place at Deakin University in Trimester 1 2017 via VTAC you must complete a VTAC Scholarships Application.

All other applicants

Apply online via the Deakin Course and Scholarship Applicant Portal.

Supporting documentation

As part of the application process you will also be required to provide supporting documentation. You must email your supporting documents with your applicant ID number in the subject line to no later than the closing date of the scholarship if you are applying for a scholarship directly through Deakin University.

The supporting documentation required includes evidence of:

  • your financial hardship.
