The Christopher Morton Memorial Scholarship

The Christopher Morton Memorial Scholarship aims to provide an opportunity for a second year student to study a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) degree at Deakin University Waurn Ponds (Geelong).

Eligibility criteria

All conditions must be met

  • an Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
  • a second year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at Waurn Ponds (Geelong) in a Commonwealth supported place in Trimester 1 2016
  • able to demonstrate you are in receipt of a means-tested Centrelink benefit or have a personal or combined family taxable income below the HECS-HELP repayment threshold, depending on independence status.

Opening and closing dates

Applications for Trimester 1 2016 open 3 August 2015 and close 30 November 2015 at 5pm.

Supporting documentation

As part of the application process you will also be required to provide supporting documentation. You must email your supporting documents with your applicant ID number in the subject line to scholarship-docs@deakin.edu.au no later than the closing date of the scholarship if you are applying for a scholarship directly through Deakin University.

The supporting documentation required includes evidence of:

  • your financial hardship.
