The Christopher Morton Memorial Scholarship

The Christopher Morton Memorial Scholarship aims to provide an opportunity for a second year student, to study a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree at Deakin University's Geelong Campus at Waurn Ponds.


Cash payment up to $2000 for one year.

Number to allocate



To apply for this scholarship you must be:

  • an Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
  • a second year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at Deakin University's Geelong Campus at Waurn Ponds in a Commonwealth Supported Place
  • either a recipient of a Centrelink benefit or can demonstrate that you have a personal or family taxable income under the HECS-HELP repayment threshold

Selection criteria

Preference will be given to students enrolled in the civil stream of the Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Applicants can apply directly to Deakin University via the Deakin Applicant Portal.

Closing date

Application details for Trimester 1 2015 open 29 August 2014 and close 19 December 2014.

Supporting documentation

As part of the application process you will also be required to provide supporting documentation. This documentation must be uploaded as part of your online scholarship application by the scholarship closing date.

Prior to the scholarship closing you will be able to re-enter your online scholarship application at any time to upload your documents.  You can use the 'Upload Documents' option at the top on the application page to submit your documentation.
