The Neilson Foundation Scholarship

The Neilson Foundation (in association with Platinum Asset Management) would like to offer two scholarships for continuing students. Successful recipients will be given the opportunity to apply to gain one month's paid work experience in Sydney in association with the Neilson Foundation and Platinum Asset Management.

One year

Eligibility criteria

All conditions must be met

  • Be an Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
  • be a current student enrolled at Deakin University in the Bachelor of Commerce and majoring in Financial Planning in Trimester 1 2016
  • be enrolled full time in a Commonwealth Supported Place
  • be in the second or third year of your degree in 2016
  • have a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 in the year prior to the scholarship.

Two - one for a second year student and one for a third year student.

Selection criteria

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the information you provide in your application. As part of your application, you will be required to provide a statement of how the scholarship will assist your studies and career goals.

Special conditions

At the end of the scholarship year the recipient will be required to submit a two-page report setting out what they wish to gain from the Financial Planning industry.

Opening and closing dates

Applications for Trimester 1 2016 open 6 August 2015 and close 30 November 2015 at 5pm.
