Whether you are just starting out at Riverina Institute, or have completed your Certificate IV / Diploma / Advanced Diploma, Deakin will provide you with the tools and advice to help you transfer to Deakin when you are ready. Deakin is a key provider of higher education in the Riverina-Murray and the University has many close relationships with major local industries and employers.
Riverina Institute and Deakin provide pathway students with the opportunity to enter university with Credit for Prior Learning of up to one and a half years towards a Bachelor's degree and Guaranteed Entry in specified courses.
Many students complete their first qualification at Riverina Institute, then transfer to Deakin University to complete their degree. Students are required to meet reasonable minimum entry requirements which will be specified to individual students by Deakin.
The Deakin-Riverina Institute Pathways Program will make obtaining a local tertiary qualification even more affordable and accessible for students seeking flexible study choices closer to home in regional areas of the Riverina-Murray. The Deakin–Riverina Institute Pathways Program provides accessible higher education "at your own pace, in your own place, in the cloud or locally in supportive groups".
This initiative will provide:
- seamless pathways between Riverina TAFE and Deakin University with Credit for Prior Learning and Articulation Pathway Guaranteed Entry to Deakin degrees
- a scholarships pathway linked to industry, facilitating greater employment opportunities for graduates
- strong industry links with work integrated learning options and vacation employment.
