Support for students

Students at Deakin face a range of issues, from simple requests for extensions on assignments through to major personal issues.

In your role, you are in a position to advise students where to look for assistance if they ask you. Some issues, you can deal with. With others, you may need to refer students to relevant support resources.

If seeking an extension for an assignment, students should contact their lecturer/unit chair/Faculty/School/campus office in the first instance. Generally, assignment extensions are handled via a separate process than for Special Consideration.
