Professor Gael McDonald commenced as Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University, Australia in January 2009.
Previously, she was Vice President of Research and Professor of Business Ethics at Unitec, New Zealand.
Professor McDonald has a Bachelor of Business (BBS) from Massey University, New Zealand, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Western Australia, and her Doctorate was obtained from The London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom.
Professor McDonald has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Macau, United States and Canada in the areas of International Marketing, Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. She has also published widely in academic and professional journals, and consulted in the private sector.
Professor McDonald is a past President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management, and has twice been a member of the New Zealand Performance Based Research Fund Panel in Business and Economics for three evaluations.
Professor McDonald is co-author with Professor Ray Cooksey of the recent text Surviving and Thriving Post Graduate Researc, published by Tilde Press.
In keeping with Gael's commitment to productivity, she is the mother of twin six year olds.
