An ambitious redevelopment program over the past few years has transformed the Melbourne Burwood Campus into a contemporary, customised learning environment, including distinctive new buildings that are now landmarks in the Burwood area. The campus has many services and facilities for use for students, staff and the general public.
Art Collection and Galleries
As the hub of a contemporary arts precinct at Deakin, the Art Gallery provides substantial space and facilities for professionally curated exhibitions drawn from the University's art collection, group and solo exhibitions by significant contemporary artists, travelling exhibitions and selected student work.
ANZ Branch (open 9.30-4.00pm Monday to Friday) and an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) are located on campus located Central Precinct, Level 1, Building HD. There is a second ATM located in Building LA. The branch staff can also assist you with sales and maintenance enquiries.
Campus bookshops provide just about everything you need for your studies: academic and general books, stationery, calculators, computer software and art and photographic materials. Go to the DUSA Bookshop for more information.
A campus shop sells cards, confectionary, stationery and newspapers.
The Deakin and Community Childcare Centre (Melbourne) is open from 7.45 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday and most Public Holidays. Care is offered on a full time, part time or occasional care basis.
The campus has several busy eateries including Einstein's restaurant and bar, a main cafeteria and the Plateau Cafe, Jooce Box and The Internet Library Cafe.

The beautiful Gardiners Creek parklands and walking track winds between the main campus and the student residences and Elgar Rd precinct. Walking, running and bike riding in this peaceful area, landscaped with native vegetation, is a popular activity with staff and students.
The Deakin University Library is open to all visitors. If you live near a campus of the University and need to access the Library and information resources you are welcome to visit the Library in person.
Sport and recreation
The YMCA fitness facilities at the Melbourne Burwood Campus boasts the most up to date fitness equipment including a cardio and main weights area, as well as male and female shower and locker facilities.
