Join us in celebrating Deakin's 10th Diwali Festival of Lights.
Event details
This free community event includes cultural performances, a DJ, Indian market stalls, traditional food, henna tattoos, face-painting and free children's activities followed by a spectacular fireworks display on Geelong's Waterfront.
Diwali is one of the most significant Hindu festivals celebrated around the world. It is dedicated to the triumph of light over darkness, goodness over evil and knowledge over ignorance.
- 5.45pm: Cultural performances held at Costa Hall
- 7pm: Indian market stalls showcasing traditional food, DJ, henna tattoos, face-painting, children's activities and more
- 8.50pm: Fireworks display on Geelong's Waterfront
- Dress: Indian cultural dress or neat casual
