Many people find it hard to develop and maintain positive workplace relationships. Throughout the talk, Associate Professor Gery Karantzas will draw on the latest thinking and research from organisational psychology and how this intersects with the science of relationships. Associate Professor Karantzas will identify the key factors that assist with creating positive workplace relationships to enhance organisational outcomes and personal wellbeing. Furthermore, Associate Professor Karantzas will outline the factors critical to successful leadership in the workplace, and how employees can enhance the quality of their co-worker relationships.
About the presenter
Gery Karantzas is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology and Director of the Science of Adult Relationships (SoAR) Laboratory at Deakin University. He is also the founder of relationshipscienceonline.com, a website that helps the general public and counsellors understand the science of love and human connection. Gery is one of Australia’s leading relationships experts and has been delivering workshops, seminars and lectures in relationship science to the general public and professionals for over a decade. Gery’s research has focused on a variety of areas including workplace relations. He has a specific interest in the factors that predict effective leadership and designing staff training to improve workplace satisfaction and effectiveness. His research has been funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council and he is widely cited in the media for his work on relationships.
