Biography
Ms Maryam Hasanova is a Bachelor of International Studies student, majoring in Politics and Policy studies alongside a Diploma in Spanish.
Maryam was born in Baku Azerbaijan, has lived in various countries and speaks English, Russian and Azeri as well as learning Spanish. Through her life and educational experiences she has developed a deep-rooted appreciation for internationality, multiculturalism and community diversity.
Maryam has served on the Board of the Deakin University Student Association and in 2019 was the Association's Community Engagement Officer. She has enjoyed playing an active role in student clubs, and student life and welfare activities throughout her time at Deakin.
Maryam was elected by students to serve on the University Council in 2020. She is a member of the Legislation Committee.
