Deakin Alumni, Bendigo Bank Business Banking and Deakin University Community Bank (DUCB) travel competition at Melbourne End of Year Event
One lucky Deakin alumnus will win a A$1000 travel and accommodation voucher at the Deakin Alumni Melbourne End of Year event on Monday 9 December 2019.
To be eligible to enter, alumni need to book to attend the event and also must have up to date contact information in the Deakin Alumni Community Portal.
One Deakin alumni member will be randomly drawn at the event from those who are eligible and you need to be at the event at the time of the prize draw to claim the prize.
Terms and conditions
The promoter of this competition is Deakin University ABN 56 721 584 203 of 1 Gheringhap Street, Geelong VIC 3220.
1. Information on how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and entries must comply with these Terms and Conditions to be valid.
2. This competition is governed by the laws in force in the State of Victoria.

a. Is open to all Deakin alumni and is free to enter.
b. This Competition is free to enter and is open to registered Deakin Alumni who RSVP and then attend the Deakin Alumni Geelong End of Year event on Tuesday 26 November 2019.
c. To be eligible to enter, entrants also must have up to date contact information in the Deakin Alumni Community Portal and have given Deakin University permission to contact them (ie they must not have selected or asked the Deakin Alumni Office to mark on their behalf ‘no further email contact’ or ‘no further contact’ from Deakin University in their Deakin privacy settings).
d. One Deakin alumni member will be randomly drawn at the event from those who are eligible.
4. Staff employed by the Deakin Advancement division are not eligible to enter the competition.
5. Each alumni member can only enter once.
6. One alumni winner will be drawn at random from those who are eligible.
7. There is one prize to be awarded:
(1)First prize = AUD$1000 Flight Centre travel and accommodation voucher.
8. The total prize pool is valued at AUD$1000.
How to enter
9. Deakin Alumni must RSVP to attend the event and then attend the Deakin Alumni Melbourne End of Year event on Monday 9 December 2019. To be eligible to enter, entrants also must have up to date contact information in the Deakin Alumni Community Portal and have given Deakin University permission to contact them (ie they must not have not selected or asked the Deakin Alumni Office to mark on their behalf ‘no further email contact’ or ‘no further contact’ from Deakin University in their Deakin privacy settings). One Deakin alumni member will be randomly drawn at the event from those who are eligible.
10. The winners will be drawn randomly at the Deakin Alumni Melbourne End of Year event on Monday 9 December 2019 at 6.45pm AEDT.
11. The winner will be notified in person. The name of the winner will be published online at www.deakin.edu.au/alumni within 15 days of them being chosen.
12. If the winner is not present at the time of the prize draw to claim the prize as outlined under paragraph 11, a redraw will be conducted immediately as outlined in paragraph 11.
13. The prize will be given to the winner in person at the Deakin University Waterfront Campus.
14. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be substituted for cash. Deakin University’s decision is final and binding – no correspondence will be entered into. Deakin accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications. Entries will be deemed void if forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way.
15. Use of the travel and accommodation voucher is subject to Flight Centre Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions.
Consent to promotion
16. Entrants consent to Deakin using their name, image or voice for promotional purposes on the Deakin Alumni webpage, dKin alumni enewsletter, Deakin Alumni Facebook page and Deakin Alumni LinkedIn page. Winners agree to make themselves available for a photograph and interview in the event and if requested by Deakin University.
Collection statement
17. Deakin University is collecting your personal information for the primary purpose of updating your personal information and responses in the Deakin Alumni Community portal and database. Deakin will use this personal information to draw the winner. You are not required to provide the information requested, however if the information is not provided, Deakin will not be able to register you for the draw.
18. Deakin manages personal information, including requests by individuals for access to their personal information, in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). Deakin’s Privacy Policy is available from the Policy Library.
