Biography

Dr Ali Yaftian is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting in Deakin Business School. Ali has over 18 years of experience in academia, and 12 years in public accounting. He was a recipient of the Dean Awards for Teaching Excellence within the Faculty of Business and Informatics at Central Queensland University (CQU) in 2007. 

Prior to Deakin, he taught accounting units for several years at Victoria University in Australia, Central Queensland University and the University of New England. Ali holds a Bachelor of Economics (ATU), a Master of Accounting (UOW), PhD in Accounting (UOW), a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education (VU) and a Graduate Certificate in Management (CQU).  His research interests are in financial reporting, CSR, accounting history, accounting education, and business ethics where he has published several journal articles.  He has also several years work experience in public practice.
