Research interests
Anna's research focuses on using participatory methods to improve the health, wellbeing, and participation of people with a disability, particularly Autistic adults, and more recently, young people with cerebral palsy.
In 2016 Anna was awarded her PhD in Rett syndrome. Upon completing her PhD, she undertook a post-doctoral fellowship investigating the healthcare experiences of Autistic adults at the University of Queensland funded by the Cooperative Research Centre for Living with Autism. In 2018, Anna was awarded a RMIT VC Postdoctoral Fellowship and a Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship to undertake research about the hospital experiences of Autistic adults.
Anna commenced as a Senior Reseach Fellow at Deakin University in January 2022. She is working with Kids Plus Foundation, a specialist allied health therapy provider for infants, children and young adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families, to assist them in developing a program of research.
