Biography

I am a Research Fellow within the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit, School of Psychology, Deakin University.

My research uses a combination of brain stimulation and functional neuroimaging to better understand cognitive function, and to assess how neurocognitive circuits are disrupted in psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders.

I have received advanced training in non-invasive brain stimulation, electrophysiology, and cognitive neuroscience through a PhD at Monash University and postdoctoral training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (University of Toronto) in Canada. In addition, I have >10 years’  experience in specialised diagnostic clinical electrophysiology through work within the Alfred Hospital Neuroscience Department.

I am passionate about the advancement and promotion of neuroscientific research. I am currently Secretary of the Australasian Brain Stimulation Society (ABSS), and I have previously held positions on several committees including the Students of Brain Research (Events Co-Manager), Neurophysiological Sciences Society of Australasia (Treasurer), and the Medical Scientists Association of Victoria (Honorary Councillor).

I have presented my research at >20 national and international conferences, with my work being published in high-impact peer reviewed journals including Brain Stimulation, Neuroimage, Human Brain Mapping, Cortex, and Biological Psychiatry. I am Associate Editor for Frontiers in Neuropsychiatry, and I am also an Expert Network Member for the World Economic Forum in the insight area of Mental Health and Science.
