Biography

Brendan Hyde has held previous academic positions at Australian Catholic University and at BBI – The Australian Institute for Theological Education in Sydney, where he was the Academic Dean. Brendan is a member of the Australian College of Educators, an Honorary Senior Research Fellow of Federation University Australia and a Fellow of the Centre for the Theology of Childhood (Denver, Colorado, USA). From 2009 until the end of 2017 Brendan was a co-editor of International Journal of Children’s Spirituality, a peer-reviewed academic journal that provides a multicultural and interdisciplinary forum for those involved in research and development of children’s and young people’s spirituality. He is the author of Children and Spirituality: Searching for Meaning and Connectedness, and co-author of The Spiritual Dimension of Children’s Lives (both published through Jessica Kingsley Publishers, London and Philadelphia) as well as numerous academic articles in peer reviewed journals.
