Biography
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at Deakin Business School. Before joining Deakin University in 2016, I was a Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Finance at La Trobe University between 2013 and 2016. I am also an Associate Editor at the Australian Journal of Management.
I specialize in empirical corporate finance, with a particular emphasis on the determinants and consequences of corporate innovation. I am also interested in corporate decision making, effects of emotion on corporate outcomes, employee compensation, as well as the consequences of foreign competition on organizational decision-making. My research has been published in various international business journals, including The Accounting Review, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Markets, and Journal of Banking and Finance. My research has been featured in media outlets, including Forbes, Bloomberg, and ABC Radio National.
My educational background includes a PhD in Finance from Monash University (graduated May of 2014), as well as a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree, also from Monash University.
Outside of finance, my interests revolve around European and Asian history, political philosophy, astronomy, and Buddhist art.
