Professional activities

Position Purpose:

The Manager, Faculty of Health Library Services provides leadership and direction in delivering the Library's services supporting the teaching, learning and research outcomes of the Faculty.  The Manager has portfolio responsibility for strategic oversight, development and delivery of the Library's services at the Geelong Waurn Ponds campus and a university-wide Library service, actively contributing to the achievement of Deakin's LIVE agenda.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct cloud and located Library services in association with the Faculty of Health and implement innovative and responsive programs which contribute to the Faculty's strategic teaching, learning and research imperatives.
     
  • Manage services, buildings and facilities and lead and motivate staff to ensure the effectiveness of the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus library as an information resource location.
     
  • Coordinate at least one of the following library-wide operations or services, developing guidelines and evaluating performance: Services to Research; Services to Learning & Teaching; Advisory Services including International and Partners; Business Analytics; and Collection Assessment and Use.
     
  • Conceptualise, develop and implement strategies and actions which integrate the Library's services into educational programs and the research process, and reflect a customer service focus.
     
  • Contribute to the development of the Library's planning, research and development and decision-making processes.
     
  • Ensure the implementation of all University policies that relate to the areas for which the position is responsible, in particular, those relating to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, risk management, staff development and staff performance planning and review.
