Biography

Huw Flatau Harrison is a Lecturer in the Department of Management in Deakin Business School. Huw recently completed a combined PhD and Master of Industrial and Organisational Psychology at the University of Western Australia.

His research focusses on how to improve people's safety behaviours at work in safety-critical industries, including examining factors to improve individual safety motivation and an organisation's underlying safety climate/culture. His work has used mining/oil & gas, construction and healthcare settings. He has published in leading international journals such as Journal of Occupational Health Psychology and Safety Science and presented at leading international (Academy of Management, US) and domestic (Industrial and Organisational Psychology, AU) conferences.

In addition, he is a Provisional Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and Psychology Board of Australia. He is currently in the process of applying for general registration and entrance into the registrar program to become an Organisational Psychologist. Huw uses this professional registration and accreditation to strengthen industry-university ties through consultation and practice.
