Biography

After graduating from La Trobe University in 2012, Jason worked as a Research Assistant at Monash University in the fields of falls/fracture prevention & musculoskeletal health (2012-2017). In 2018, he received a NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship & began his PhD at the University of Melbourne (conferred in December 2021). His PhD project aimed to develop health care pathways that optimize recovery of quality of life and physical function following fragility fracture in older people. In this project, Jason led an international collaboration across 11 different countries involving world-renowned researchers from the fields of osteoporosis & endocrinology. Following the completion of his PhD, Jason worked as the project manager of the ENHEARTEN observational study exploring the role of health literacy in cardiac secondary prevention at Monash University. Jason currently holds a prestigious Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and is undertaking his reserach at the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN) within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, Faculty of Health at Deakin University. His fellowship project aims to co-design a post-fracture care pathway for the primary care setting that will enhance detection of osteoporosis and improve initiation and adherence to fracture prevention strategies in older adults.
