Biography
Dr Jeff Shao is an Associate Professor in Leadership in the Department of Management. He received his PhD from UNSW Sydney in 2016. Prior to joining Deakin, he was a Senior Lecturer at Monash University and Lecturer at RMIT University. Jeff’s research focuses on leadership, emotions, and cross-cultural management. He has published in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Human Relations, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and The Leadership Quarterly. Jeff’s research has been funded by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF), Baptcare, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Eastern Health, and the Ian Potter Foundation. He was a recipient of the Vice-Chancellor's Mid-Career Researcher Award for Career Excellence at Deakin University in 2023, and the recipient of the Early Career Researcher Award from The Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management in 2019.
