Biography

Dr. Julius Orwa teaches Physics and Engineering in the School of Engineering at Deakin University, Australia.  Dr. Orwa has a Ph.D. in Physics from The University of Melbourne and a Master’s degree in Physics from Oregon State University, U.S.A.  Before joining Deakin in 2014, Julius worked as a Lecturer at La Trobe University and as a Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne prior to that. He has also previously worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey in the UK.  His research interests are in the structural, electrical/electronic and optical properties of materials and their applications in technology.  His recent research has focussed on diamond and related carbon materials, where he continues to be active.
