Research interests

My research interests are focused in the area of computer networks (transport protocols and group/multicast communication in particular), but also include cloud/fog computing, Internet of Things, and network security.

Teaching interests

I spend most of my time teaching units that are technical in nature, with a particular focus on software development, operating systems, and networks.  I have also been involved in the development and delivery of courses and units in the areas of distributed systems, IT security, and games.  I currently chair the Cloud Computing (undergraduate) majors and coordinate the Cisco Networking Academy offerings within the School of Information Technology.  In the past I have chaired the development of the Games Design and Development course, Bachelor of Computer Science course, and contributed to the development of the Bachelor of Network Engineering and Bachelor of IT Security courses, and renewal of the Bachelor of Information Technology and Master of Information Technology courses.
