Biography

Dr Mehdi Taghian is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing in Deakin Business School. Over the last 22 years as an academic, Mehdi has taught various marketing subjects including marketing management, marketing research, consumer behaviour, marketing strategy, and environmental marketing. He has a continuing contribution of original research published in A-ranked journals. His research interests include marketing strategy, international marketing, consumer behaviour, environmental marketing and volunteering.

Mehdi has published in various academic journals including the Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Strategic Marketing, International Journal of Consumer Studies, etc. Topics of interest included marketing strategy, corporate social responsibility, volunteering and quality of life, green marketing, the precautionary principle and the related public policies, environmental benchmarking, consumers’ green perception formation, green marketing communications, etc. as well as presentations in various marketing conferences.

He maintains contact with the industry through occasional marketing consulting for a variety of small and medium-sized companies mainly focusing on marketing and environmental auditing and marketing research. Mehdi has also served on the board of management of a non-profit organisation over the last ten year.

Mehdi comes from a long corporate management background working for Gillette Company in Australia and overseas as well as Ansell International at various management positions dealing with all areas of sales and marketing management.
