Biography

Nick Palmer (B.Ed, University of Ballarat; M. Ed, UniSQ; Grad. Cert. Ed. Res, CSU; CAEL, Harvard GSE; PhD UniSQ) is a Teaching Scholar in Education (Pedagogy and Curriculum) at Deakin University in Warrnambool, Australia. He is a recognised expert in the area of global citizenship education, comparative and international education and international schooling. In addition, he works both within Australia and internationally consulting on practical global citizenship education. He is a former international school educator with a background in International Baccalaureate pedagogies, curriculum and assessment. Nick's research explores the philosophy of global education, initial teacher education, and global citizenship education and regionality. Nick's most recent publications explore the globalisation of educational practice in transnational settings along with outrospective epistemology and the regenerative qualities of threshold thinking. Recently he has been advanced contracted to write a book focused on practical global citizenship education for the Comparative and Internatioal Education Society (CIES) through SUNY Press.
