Biography

Paul is an Associate Professor in Design and Product Development within the School of Engineering at Deakin University. He has undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Commerce and a PhD in Engineering.  He worked for the automotive and consulting sectors, before joining Deakin to complete a PhD and stayed on in an academic role.  Since being at Deakin he has developed multiple research partnerships primarily focussed with sport apparel and technology firms.  He is leading a multidisciplinary group of researchers and students that encompass biomechanics to industrial design with an overarching focus on human interaction with products and artefacts. The focus can be summarised as the intersection of technology, design and people and ultimately how we “design better products”.
