Biography

My research focuses on Human-Wildlife conflicts in the marine environment. In particular, I am interested in assessing the impacts of marine predators – fisheries interactions on marine social-ecological systems and in developing mitigation solutions for these interactions using integrated and interdisciplinary approaches. Over the past 10 years, I have been primarily working on the growing conflict of depredation (i.e. marine predators feeding on fisheries catches directly from fishing gear) involving odontocetes (toothed whales) and longline fisheries in subantarctic and Australian waters.
