Biography
Dr Sam Tavassoli is an Associate Professor at Deakin's Department of Management and also an affiliated research fellow at the Centre for Innovation Research (CIRCLE), Lund University, Sweden. Sam earned his PhD in Industrial Economics & Management with specialisation in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2014. He completed part of his PhD studies at the University of North Carolina (UNC) in the United States. Before Deakin, he worked at RMIT University and Lund University. Sam’s research interest and teaching profile examines the innovation strategies of firms, diversity and innovation, and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Sam also has particular interest in the adoption and diffusion of emerging and disruptive technologies, such as 3D Printing and Blockchain. His research has been published in leading outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and Research Policy.
