Research interests

My research focuses on evaluation methods - particularly the evaluation of meditation-based and alternative approaches to wellbeing, exemplified through eastern traditions such as yoga (physical health) and mindfulness (mental health). These modalities charter the course from healing to health (therapy), to ultra-health, to the superlative (high-end performance, including teaching and learning).

Affiliations

Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA)

Teaching interests

I draw on Friere’s (1976) metacognition theories, Moon’s (2002) experiential learning and reflective practices and Boler’s Pedagogy of Discomfort (1999) to create transitions from surface to deep learning, and to empower students through thought-provoking content and delivery.
