Biography

Dr Suprika Shrivastava is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics in Deakin Business School. During Suprika’s 14 years of academic and industry experience, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to work effectively and achieve her goals. As an academic, she has excelled in teaching roles, both for on-campus and distance education, through her ability to engage with students and deliver quality education. She has a good track record of research publications in international journals and conferences. Some of her research publications are published in ‘A’ Grade ranked journal in ABDC listing.

Currently, Suprika is carrying a research project in the area of Agile Project management and software quality along with a team of researchers in Australia and India. The project is leading to strong industry engagement with international research collaboration. Her doctoral research titled as ‘A Risk Management Framework for Distributed Agile Development’ was sponsored by Project Management Institute (PMI, USA) and was successfully completed. She is contributing to the research community by working as a section editor and a reviewer for Australasian Journal for Information Systems. Her research interests are in the areas of project management, agile project management, risk management in the distributed agile development, software quality and software engineering.

Prior to Deakin University, Suprika worked as a lecturer with universities in Australia including Federation University and Torrens University. In India, she worked with the Symbiosis Centre for Information technology (Symbiosis International (Deemed University)) as an assistant professor. This included review and upgrade of course material, Coordinator for Registered Education Provider membership (R.E.P) for Project Management Institute (P.M.I, USA), In-charge of guest lecture committee member, contributed significantly to quality review and audit process by various accreditation bodies at national level. She developed a wide network in the industry whilst conducting her research. Industry practitioners who supported her research also added value to the university by working as guest speakers and academic board members.

Suprika is a member of various professional bodies in my discipline like Australian Computer Society, Agile Community of Practices and Geelong Lean Coffee group which helps me to contribute to the growing community in Agile and project management.
