What did you love most about Deakin?
Asides from my degree itself, Deakin provided me with unique opportunities that have played a formative role in my life. Whilst studying I completed an internship within the University’s events team which launched my career in unexpected and wondrous ways.

After I graduated, I continued to work in event management for Deakin before moving to the USA. I lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area as a Marketing and Events Specialist for the University of California, Berkeley. Whilst I was over there I ran an event for Deakin alumni in Northern California which eventually brought me back to Melbourne to work within the alumni relations team at Deakin!
What has been the biggest influence on your career?
My current and previous managers, mentors and colleagues who have guided and supported me over the years.
What quality has helped you the most in your career?
I always want to learn, grow and be better than I was yesterday.
What advice would you give to current students?
Relax. It’s going to be okay. Enjoy the journey and take things as they come. Things may not happen the way you expected or wanted them to but trust me, it’s all going to work out.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I’m very passionate about health, wellbeing, social justice and sustainability, so I would love to do more work in those areas.
How would someone describe you?
What’s your favourite piece of advice?
Do what's best for you.
Who is your idol?
Oprah Winfrey – I'm inspired by her story, her work, and her philosophy of living the highest, fullest, truest expression of yourself.
