Shopping and food

We make shopping straightforward, with all our campuses kitted out with a range of amenities for purchase. Whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there are plenty of great venues catering for everyone, including vegetarians and those on special diets.

Childcare

On-campus childcare means you can get to every class on time. The centre is open to children of students and staff, as well as children from the local area, though waiting lists apply.

Safety and security

We take safety very seriously at all our campuses, with 24/7 security officers and a SafeZone app for your phone.

Library

Not only a great space to study but a hub of infinite physical and digital resources, including our helpful and dedicated library staff.

Your commute

Public transport

Geelong’s Waurn Ponds train station is the closest station to the campus. V/Line trains operate throughout the day on the Geelong–Melbourne line and take just over an hour and 15 minutes from Southern Cross Station.

There are plenty of bus services that run from the Geelong CBD, Geelong railway station and the Waurn Ponds railway station to the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus.

Plan your journey

Drive

It's approximately a one-hour drive from Melbourne's CBD, depending on traffic. There's a number of carparks on campus, paid via permit or ticket. You can also park for free at the Barwon Valley Activity Centre in Belmont, and complete your journey on the free inter-campus shuttle bus.

Cycle

The campus is connected to a number of scenic bicycle trails. On campus you’ll find showers and change rooms, bike racks and lockers to make your commute as easy and safe as possible or you can park at Barwon Valley Activity Centre (BVAC) and jump on the Cube bus to campus.

Carpool

We provide a free carpool matching service for students and staff. If you're giving someone a lift to campus, you can also use the carpooling car park.

While you're on campus

Free inter-campus shuttle bus

Our free inter-campus bus service for students and staff runs Monday to Friday, 7am until 8.30pm, with stops at both Geelong campuses. There’s also a stop at the Barwon Valley Activity Centre in Belmont. It's the most convenient way to travel between campuses.

Please note the bus service doesn't operate on weekends or during University closure dates.

Disability access

Most of our buildings are wheelchair-accessible with lifts, accessible toilets and automatic doors. We're continuously working to improve the accessibility of all campus facilities.
